The Sennheiser e 906 is a professional dynamic super-cardioid instrument microphone specially designed for guitar amplifiers while also delivering outstanding performance on percussion and brass instruments. Its exceptionally fast transient response captures every detail with clarity and precision, providing a lively, natural sound without unwanted coloration.

The microphone’s unique flat-profile design allows it to be suspended directly in front of a guitar amplifier without requiring a microphone stand. A three-position switchable presence filter (Bright, Moderate, Dark) enables quick tonal adjustment to suit different amplifier types, musical styles, and recording or live sound applications. Its rugged reinforced metal housing and hum-compensating coil ensure dependable performance in demanding stage and studio environments.

The instrument microphone shall be a dynamic super-cardioid microphone designed for use with guitar amplifiers, percussion, and brass instruments. The microphone shall feature a rugged reinforced metal housing and a three-position switchable presence filter for adapting the sound characteristics to different applications.

The microphone shall have a frequency response of 40 Hz – 18,000 Hz and a sensitivity (free field, no load) of 2.2 mV/Pa at 1 kHz. Nominal impedance shall be 350 Ω with a minimum terminating impedance of 1 kΩ.

The microphone shall provide a balanced 3-pin XLR connector. Dimensions shall be 55 × 34 × 134 mm (2.17″ × 1.34″ × 5.28″). Weight shall be approximately 140 grams (4.94 oz).
