Description
The Sennheiser e 965 is a premium large-diaphragm true condenser vocal microphone designed for professional live performances where studio-quality sound is required. Featuring a 1-inch externally polarized dual-diaphragm capsule, the e 965 delivers exceptional vocal detail, smooth transient response, and a rich, natural sound while maintaining the rugged durability expected from Sennheiser’s Evolution series.
Its switchable cardioid and super-cardioid pick-up patterns provide outstanding flexibility for different stage environments, while the integrated low-cut filter and switchable -10 dB pre-attenuation allow optimal performance under a wide range of vocal applications. ARCHITECT’S SPECIFICATION
The vocal microphone shall be an externally polarized dual-diaphragm condenser microphone with switchable cardioid and super-cardioid pick-up patterns designed for professional live vocal applications.
The microphone shall feature a rugged metal housing, shock-mounted capsule, integrated low-cut filter, and switchable sensitivity attenuation (0 dB / –10 dB). The microphone shall provide excellent suppression of handling noise, effective protection against moisture, and an integrated acoustic pop and wind filter.
The microphone shall have a frequency response of 40 Hz – 20,000 Hz and a sensitivity (free field, no load) of 7 mV/Pa at 1 kHz or 2.3 mV/Pa with pre-attenuation. Nominal impedance shall be 50 Ω with a minimum terminating impedance of 1 kΩ.
Maximum sound pressure level shall be 142 dB SPL or 152 dB SPL with pre-attenuation. Equivalent noise level shall be 21 dB(A). The microphone shall operate on 48 V phantom power and provide a balanced 3-pin XLR connector.
Dimensions shall be Ø 48 × 199 mm (1.89″ × 7.83″). Weight shall be 396 grams (13.97 oz).
