The Sennheiser e 865 is a professional pre-polarized condenser vocal microphone designed to deliver exceptional vocal clarity, detail, and dynamic range for demanding live performance applications. ARCHITECT’S SPECIFICATION

The vocal microphone shall be a pre-polarized condenser microphone with a super-cardioid pick-up pattern designed for professional vocal applications. The microphone shall provide a smooth frequency response, excellent transient response, high feedback rejection, and low distortion for accurate vocal reproduction.

The microphone shall have a frequency response of 40 Hz – 20,000 Hz and a sensitivity (free field, no load) of 3 mV/Pa at 1 kHz. The maximum sound pressure level shall be 150 dB. Nominal impedance shall be 200 Ω with a minimum terminating impedance of 1 kΩ.

The microphone shall operate on 12–48 V phantom power and provide a balanced 3-pin XLR connector. The microphone shall feature a rugged all-metal housing and a shock-mounted capsule assembly.

Dimensions shall be Ø 47 × 193 mm (1.85″ × 7.60″). Weight shall be approximately 311 grams (10.97 oz).
