The Sennheiser e 908 B is a professional pre-polarized condenser instrument microphone specially designed for brass instruments. Featuring an exceptionally lively, open, and detailed sound character, the e 908 B accurately reproduces the natural tone and dynamics of trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and other brass instruments with outstanding clarity.

Its flexible gooseneck and multifunctional instrument clamp allow fast, secure mounting and precise microphone positioning directly on the instrument. The integrated shock-mounted capsule effectively minimizes handling and structure-borne noise, while the included MZA 900 P in-line preamplifier provides phantom power operation and reliable signal transmission for professional live sound and studio recording applications.

ARCHITECT’S SPECIFICATION

The instrument microphone shall be a pre-polarized condenser microphone with a cardioid pick-up pattern designed specifically for brass instruments. The microphone shall feature a flexible gooseneck, integrated shock-mounted capsule, and a multifunctional instrument clamp for secure mounting and precise positioning.

The microphone shall have a frequency response of 40 Hz – 20,000 Hz and a sensitivity (free field, no load) of 4 mV/Pa at 1 kHz. Maximum sound pressure level shall be 147 dB SPL. Nominal impedance shall be 100 Ω with a minimum terminating impedance of 50 Ω.

The microphone shall operate on 12–48 V phantom power via the supplied MZA 900 P in-line preamplifier and provide a balanced 3-pin XLR connector.

Dimensions shall be Ø 47 × 193 mm (1.85″ × 7.60″). Weight shall be approximately 140 grams (4.94 oz).
