The Sennheiser MD 421 Kompakt + Drum Clamp is a professional dynamic instrument microphone engineered for close-miking applications in both live sound and studio recording. Delivering the legendary sound signature of the iconic MD 421 in a significantly more compact form factor, it offers exceptional clarity, high SPL handling, and accurate transient response for drums, guitar cabinets, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and speech.

Supplied with the innovative MZH DRUMS mounting clip, the microphone securely attaches directly to drum rims, providing an exceptionally stable and space-saving mounting solution. ARCHITECT’S SPECIFICATION

The microphone shall be a professional moving-coil dynamic microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern designed for close instrument miking, studio recording, broadcast, and live sound reinforcement applications.

The microphone shall feature a pressure-gradient transducer, rugged construction, balanced XLR output connector, and shall be supplied with an integrated MZH DRUMS drum mounting clip for secure attachment to drum rims and microphone stands.

The microphone shall provide a frequency response of 30 Hz – 17,000 Hz and a sensitivity (free field, no load) of 2 mV/Pa ±2.5 dB at 1 kHz. Nominal impedance shall be 250 Ω with a minimum terminating impedance of 1 kΩ.

The microphone shall require no external power supply and shall provide a balanced 3-pin XLR connector.

Dimensions shall be 122 × 49 × 84 mm. Weight shall be 159 grams.
